Melissa Leigh is the General Counsel of Intermedix.
As General Counsel, Melissa is responsible for leading corporate, strategic and tactical legal initiatives.
Melissa manages our compliance, human resources, legal and contracting team, as well as the outside counsel. She additionally monitors regulatory changes and provides important services and guidance to our board of directors and senior management team. Melissa assumed this role in January 2016.
Melissa has been with Intermedix since 2012 and was the company’s associate general counsel for three years before being appointed to chief compliance officer in 2015. In this position, Melissa was in charge of key compliance responsibilities, such as overseeing and managing our enterprise-wide compliance program. Melissa has over 25 years of legal and compliance experience in the industry.
Before joining Intermedix, Melissa was the general counsel of ESi Acquisition, Inc. in Augusta, Georgia. During this time, ESi Acquisition, Inc. was acquired by Intermedix and Melissa seamlessly transitioned into her role as associate general counsel within the company. Prior to her position at ESi Acquisition, Inc., Melissa was the deputy director and general counsel for South Western Regional Planning Agency in Stamford, Connecticut.
As an attorney, Melissa has brought a wealth of organizational and industry legal knowledge to Intermedix. Melissa holds a bachelor's degree from Colgate University, a Master’s degree from New York University, and a Juris Doctorate from the Pace University School of Law.
In addition to her professional career, Melissa enjoys long distance cycling, cooking and hiking.
